We brought you the story recently of the dad who live streamed his wife giving birth.

Well it looks like it was all a big mistake.

New dad Fakamalo Kihe Eiki told People magazine that he thought it was just available to family and friends.

The 26-year-old said his family on the Polynesian island of Tonga couldn’t make it in time to be there for the birth so he wanted them to be a part of the day.

And they were, along with nearly 240,000 other people.

Realising his mistake when the viewer count reached tens of thousands, Fakamalo considered stopping recording but changed his mind.

Speaking to People magazine he said:

“There’s a lot of negative stuff on Facebook and so I thought this would be positive. I figured as long as I kept it PG… it’s something to be happy about.”

But what did mum think?

Well, apparently she was fine with it.

The couple welcomed a healthy baby boy named Ngagatulelei HeKelesi.

“I know some people are mad that it’s not private, but I’m from Tonga and years ago, we would have water births in public. I wasn’t too worried about hiding anything because our culture has done this for thousands of years.” he added.
