Even though you are just as excited for the arrival of your second baby as you were for your first, there are a few major differences. While finding yourself pregnant for the second time is just as exciting, it often brings about very different emotions and reactions.

Revealing your news
The first time you found out that you were pregnant you probably tried to think of really cool and creative ways to tell friends and family. This time round you are more likely to just send a quick text or maybe even a Facebook post. You have other things to occupy your mind, including another child to look after.

Baby books
The first time round you no doubt stocked up on a ton of pregnancy books to help you get through the next nine months. However, your second pregnancy is not often met with such eagerness to get information. This is often due to the fact you have a ‘been there, done that’ sort of attitude.

What to eat
Your food choices on your first pregnancy were probably kept strictly to what the doctor ordered. Your second pregnancy is met with a little more leniency and you find that you are treating yourself a lot more than you did, enjoying the odd coffee here and there.

Documenting your bump
First pregnancies are exciting as you enter the unknown and envisage how your bump will look in a few months time. You probably took as many pictures of it as possible so you can document the changes that you went through. Second time around you are less likely to record every waking pregnancy moment. Sure you’ve been there, done that.

Less time worrying
Worrying is a normal part of pregnancy, especially when it is your first. Many first-time mums worry about every single ache and pain, whether something is safe or not, make-up to use, clothes to wear, the list is endless. Second time you don’t really stress about it, maybe because you are already aware of most issues or because you trust your own instincts.
