While pregnancy is not a bed of roses for everyone, many of us enjoy the journey it takes us on over the 40 weeks.
In fact, so many of us enjoy it that we actually us it to our advantage – sure we might as well, it’s not a regular occurrence that we can nap during the day!
Here are eight guilty pleasures of a mum-to-be:
The fact that we can exercise less
Ok, we know you need to stay fit and healthy when pregnant, but there is something about having a genuine excuse to be able to skip the evening run when you want!
We can turn down any night out we like
Sometimes we really don’t want to attend our significant other’s work night out or meet friends to talk about their holiday and that’s where pregnancy comes in to it. No one is going to argue with a mum-to-be when she says she is tired (even if she’s really not!)
Being able to eat an extra portion at dinner
You’re not eating for two but that doesn’t stop you asking for an extra helping at dinner, usually dessert, and you do so without batting your eyelids.
Taking someone's seat on the bus
You’re pregnant and you really shouldn’t be standing for more than ten minutes... Who cares if you are only four months gone!
The massages
How many times have you asked your other half for a massage to distress your weary body, even though you felt perfectly fine! Go, on admit it, we’re all friends here!
Sleeping whenever, wherever
Growing a baby is exhausting business. So if we want to have a nap just after dinner or a snooze in the car while the other half does the shopping so be it! We deserve to sleep whenever we like, pregnancy is tiring.
Eating the last biscuit
Ok, we know this is another food one, but that has got to be one the best things about pregnancy – eating! Nobody is going to say anything if we eat the last chocolate bar, even though we ate the rest of the packet as well...
Being a rollercoaster of emotions
Sometimes we just need to have a good cry or a good scream, and we can always blame it on the hormones. Oh those frustrating hormones...
