A shop clerk in Colorado, US has come in for serious praise this week, after footage of her rescuing a baby as its mother collapsed from a seizure went viral.

Rebecca Montano, who works behind the cash register at the Alta convenience store, has been hailed as a ‘hero’ for protecting the baby from potential injury.

As you can see in the footage below, Rebecca was serving the young mother – said to be in her twenties – when the incident occurred.

Rebecca told Inside Edition: “I look at the mom, and she has a blank stare, and something in me said something wasn’t right. She started to sway, so I grabbed the baby’s arms. She was lost in space. I said, ‘I gotta take this baby’, and took the baby out of her arms. When I did, then she started to fall.”

The quick-thinking clerk then called for help, and a male customer was seen rushing to her aid to help with the baby.

According to reports, the as yet unnamed mother has suffered with seizures since childhood and is now doing okay.

We are so glad to hear that both Mum and Baby are well after the incident. Check out the dramatic footage below.
