Hands up who has ever been working out while pregnant?

And have you ever noticed that certain apps you may use such as weight or training ones don't take into account that you're actually pregnant when you are?

Space, science, and tech writer Swapna Krishna has taken to Twitter to call out these companies who are ignoring a huge chunk of their market.

She tweeted, ''hey tech developers: It’d be really nice if you put a “pregnancy mode” in your weight/training/workout etc. apps. I’m getting really tired of my smart scale and exercise apps yelling at me for weight gain/decreased activity.''

The tweet took off, with thousands of likes and retweets, and many people joining in the conversation that she had started.

She also mentioned the fact that it wasn't just small developers, but the bigwigs that were also guilty of this.

She wrote, ''I’m not talking about small developers either. My @apple Watch is reminding me daily about my fitness goals. I was meeting them until about two weeks ago, now it’s a lot more difficult. No way to pause the notifications, I have to turn them off entirely.''

People were chiming in, saying that they had been experiencing similar issues with exercise apps.

One said, ''This seems so obvious it’s shameful it hasn’t been added'' while another wrote, ''this is a GREAT IDEA. I wanted to stay on top of my nutrition bc of prior complications, but eventually gave up on doing that on an app bc I couldn't stand seeing the calorie/weight gain chastising.''

It seems, judging by the comments, that this is a big problem - so why hasn't it been addressed before?

Companies began reaching out to Swapna when they heard about her tweet and apparently a few said that they would be adding this functionality to their app.

We think that it's time companies took this on board and integrated it into their apps - pregnant women exercise too and that shouldn't be overlooked.
