Me Time With Netflix

Netflix are asking MummyPages mums how they’ll be spending their time now that the kids are back in school.

Maybe you’ll be finishing that blog post you started writing two months ago? Or perhaps you’ll be finally making use of your neglected gym membership? How about you look after yourself for once, put your feet up, and treat yourself to a relaxing moment with cup of tea and your favourite Netflix show.

Netflix is available anywhere there’s a wifi connection, and can be watched on numerous devices, including mobiles, tablets, smart TVs and games consoles. With a massive selection of top quality films and award-winning TV shows, as well as access to Netflix’s exclusive original programmes, there’s always something new to discover.

So, how will you be using Netflix now that you have a bit more time to yourself? Do you work part-time and look forward to that hour in the afternoon when you unwind with an episode of Suits? Are you giving yourself some free time after you drop the kids at school to grab a coffee and catch up on Orange is the New Black on your iPad? Or do you wait until the kids are safely tucked up in bed to binge-watch the final season of The Killing on your smart TV with the hubby? Whatever it is, we'd love to hear about it!

Share how as a mum, you use Netflix to find some quality me time and be in with a chance to win a weekend away for you and your partner at the g Hotel & Spa in Galway.

Hi, my name is Louise and I am a Netflix Mum Ambassador for MummyPages. Netflix is brilliant for catching some quality Me Time! I love bringing my Mini iPad to the gym with me - I watch an episode of Orange Is The New Black and I don't see the 45 minutes gone on the treadmill which is just brilliant.

I don't know about other mums but I love nothing more than when the kids have gone to bed but to make a cuppa and catch up on an episode (or two) of Suits or House of Cards. It is definately one of my favourite times of the day - when I can settle in to watch my favourite shows. Even if I do get disturbed - I can just pause and pick straight back up from where I left off.

Just like Jenni - Netflix is the perfect companion when I am ironing. It really is one of the worst chores - but when I put Netflix on my iPad, I don't notice the time slipping by. As a result, I (almost) look forward to ironing now as I get some time to catch up on the shows that I like to watch. My husband and I have also created a wishlist on Netflix which is brilliant. We have about 5 boxsets lined up to watch, we are currently watching Breaking Bad - which is just amazing. :-)

I wake ridiculously early ... like 5am early. And nobody, not even my littliest, gets up at that ungodly hour. So other than catch up on a load of washing, or clearing the kitchen ... there's not much else to do that will quietly ease me into the monring. And along came Netflix .. my pal of an early morning. I love it. Keeps me sane and keeps me company. Great choice on there, something different every day. All available as and when I need them.

Couldn't agree more Sally-K, the pause is a godsend.

There's no greater treat, than when you get through a looooong day, get the kids to bed, get dinner on and sit back and enjoy a show on Netflix, i'm watching a few at the mo, Breaking Bad is my current favourite, but I often watch documentaries or comedy shows they have on there too. i really enjoy my evneings with Netflix.

For me, TV time doesn't happen normally, like sitting down and switching on the tele, it's about on the go moments, bringing the kids to after school activities and waiting around for them - it's then i have my me time moments with Netflix - I grab the iPad with me every time I go out, and catch up on my viewiwng. Couldn't be better. No interruptions. Just me. Brilliant.

Netflix is such a great place for me to go for me time. There's so little time during the day, and it's really only when all the little ones are gone to bed, when I can get my me time. And so often by then, and by the time that I've cleared away the house, caught up on washing and sorted dinner for me and the hubby, the shows on normal tv are over. Netflix is my go to happy place where all my shows are on when and where I want them. Joy.

Firstly I want to say I love my kids dearly! BUT ... (there's always a 'but') I definitely value mummy me time. There's always so much going on, and all of which focus on the kids, the hubby, the house, school, sports etc. And very little of what's going on is about me - of course I'm fine with that, it's my job as mummy, and very proud I am too.
And when all that work is done, when the kids are gone to school, when the hubby is gone to work, I take a sneaky hour in the morning and catch up with my favourite shows. No interruptions with little people (and big people) looking for help. It's just bliss. And it's so great to see other mums like me do the same. Thank you Netflix.

Oh god yes I absolutely value my me time. And it's good for the kids too - mummy needs something to keep her occupied (read: sane) and knowing I've got some me time lined up in the evening or at the weekend is just what keeps me going. Sometimes things can get so hectic at home, and even quiet time involves kiddie things / programmes / activities - so it's really important that me and the hubby have our own down time. And no babysitter required either. I love it.

I love when I get my 4 little ones to bed & then I run the bath for me! Nothing nicer than watching Netflix while relaxing in the bath. When we moved in I got an extra large tiled ledge put on the side of the bath not realising it's a perfect spot to sit my kindle while I soak & watch The Good Wife! #TimeToNetflix

I especially love Netflix when I'm away. I often travel with work, at least once a week, and that means long evenings in the hotel, this is my favourite me time - it woudl be so dull without having Netflix.
When I'm at home I like to be 100% there for the kids, and when I'm away I want to pass the time away - Netflix and their great selection of shows helps me do that.

For my birthday last year, my lovely hubby bought me a smart TV and a subscription to Netflix - best present ever. i love my quiet time during the day while my little one takes a nap. I get too tired to watch TV at night, always fall asleep before the show is over. So during the day is my me time. And I LOVE it!

Since the kids went back to school, my me time is in the morning at about 11.30 - house cleaned, washing on, dnner prepared .. just enough time before home time to catch up on a bit of me time on Netflix. No disturbances, no ads, just me and my shows! Brilliant.
