Mums all over the world have been going viral in recent times thanks to their humorous and creative social media postings, but it seems that not everyone is so impressed with them.

A writer was left shocked this week when she received cruel comments over a photo of the creative and nutritious dinner her friend had prepared for her child.

Em Rusciano shared a picture of a kiddies’ version of fish and chips on her Facebook page, accompanied by the caption: “My friend Amy Zempilas actually serves her children dinner like this. My kids ate straight from foil tonight. FROM FOIL.”

While Em may have been impressed with Amy’s efforts, many of her followers posted nasty, judgmental and even abusive comments regarding the photo.

A number of mums claimed that Amy obviously has too much time on her hands if she can present her child’s dinner in such a way, while another felt that she deserved a ‘punch in the face’.

“She needs to get a hobby. One that has nothing to do with her kids,” wrote one annoyed mother.

Shocked at the level of condemnation in the comments section, Em went on to write about the incident in a column.

“The question I have is: what is going on for a person that some fancy fish and chips compels them to tell a complete stranger that she deserves a punch in the face for cooking her kid’s dinner? More than one person actually wrote those words,” wrote Em.

Thankfully, the majority of mums have responded with messages of support, but this isn’t the first time that an incident like this has occurred.
