Bullying – both online and offline – is one of the biggest problems facing our young people today, which is why we as parents, educators and activists need to be addressing the issue in the most effective way.

A new guide to anti-bullying activism on Facebook, launched today at a star-studded event in the capital, will surely go a long way towards achieving this.

The Diana Award is hosting an Anti-Bullying Showcase Event at Facebook Dublin HQ, and aims to guide educators, campaigners and all in between on the best anti-bullying practice.

Now in its third year, the event centres around the unveiling of the organisation's ‘Guide to Anti-Bullying Activism on Facebook’; highlighting some of the best peer-led anti-bullying strategies taking place in schools across the Republic and Northern Ireland.

This new online resource has been developed by the organisation's team of ambassadors – many of whom have endured bullying themselves – in conjunction with the safety team at Facebook Dublin.

The resource has been specially developed to guide people on the use of Facebook as a tool to raise awareness of bullying and provide support for those affected.

Over 100 young people from schools across the country will be attending the event, along with stars including Jedward and Kodaline.
