CNN viewers got a little more drama than they were expecting yesterday, when pregnant news anchor Poppy Harlow passed out during a live studio broadcast.
The 33-year-old, who announced her pregnancy last month, was in the middle of a video link report when her speech became slurred and her breathing laboured. The camera then cut away from Poppy, with a fellow presenter standing in while producers made sure she was okay.
A total trooper, Poppy reappeared on screens just minutes later and was quick to assure viewers that she was "fine".
"For all of you on Twitter, who are asking if I'm okay, thank you so much. I got a little hot and I passed out for a moment," said the mum-to-be.
Thank you all for your concern and messages! I am ok! Passed out briefly and am with the doctor now. So thankful to our amazing CNN team.

Update from the hospital -- our little girl due this spring is doing just fine. Was a scare but we are both ok. Thank you all so much!

Poppy was, however, brought to hospital for monitoring, and she proceeded to update fans on her condition.
"Update from the hospital - our little girl due this spring is doing just fine. Was a scare but we are both okay. Thank you all so much!" she tweeted.
Phew! We can't imagine how scary that must have been for her - thank heavens that she and Baby are doing well.
