These bakes potatoes are filling and rather a nice treat to eat.
1 large baking potato
1 tbsp of olive oil
1-2 tbsp of butter
½ tsp coarse sea salt
Optional toppings: Grated cheddar cheese, sour cream, chives, tomato, ground pepper
Preheat the oven to 230°C / 450°F / Gas mark 8.
Line a baking tray with greaseproof paper and set aside.
Clean the outside of the potato thoroughly.
Poke the potato with a fork all over. Pour the olive oil into your hand and cover the entire potato with it. Season well then cut a ‘T’ into the middle of the potato and bake for an hour or until you can easily slot a knife into the flesh.
Add the butter and eat warm or add any of the toppings mentioned which will make for a delicious new way of having potatoes at the table.
