Eggless chocolate chip cookies

Eggless chocolate chip cookies
These cookies are great for allergy sufferers or simply for days when you are out of eggs.
 

175g plain flour

1 tsp baking powder

¼ tsp bicarbonate of soda

1 pinch of salt

75g butter, cubed

50g light brown sugar

100 to 150g chocolate chips or morsels

3 tbsp golden syrup

Preheat the oven to 190°C / 375°F / Gas mark 5.

Line and grease a baking tray.

Sift the flour, bicarbonate of soda, salt and baking powder into a bowl.

Use your fingertips to rub the butter and flour mixture to create a breadcrumb like consistency.

Add the sugar, chocolate and golden syrup, and mix until a dough forms.

Place small balls of the mixture onto the baking tray, press down slightly and bake for 15 minutes, until golden.
