One of the easiest and tastiest bread you can make!
300g wholemeal flour
75g plain flour
45g oats + more for topping
1 ½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
15g butter
250ml milk
100g black treacle
150ml Guinness
Place all the dry ingredients in a bowl and whisk.
Place the butter, milk and black treacle in a small saucepan over medium to low heat. Allow the butter to melt and the treacle to dissolve.
Remove from the heat and to the dry ingredients, as well as the Guinness. Mix until just combined and pour into a greased and floured loaf tin. Top with remaining oats.
Heat the oven to 180°C. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, remove from the tin and bake for a further 5 minutes. Let cool on a wire rack.
