Half and half chocolate cookies

Half and half chocolate cookies
Delicious chocolate cookies which kids will love to help make.

Chocolate chip batter

150g butter

135g granulated sugar

135g light brown sugar

1 egg

1 egg yolk

1 tsp vanilla extract

250g plain flour

1 tsp bread soda

¼ tsp salt

200g chocolate chips

Chocolate batter

150g butter

135g light brown sugar

135g granulated sugar

1 egg

1 eg yolk

1 tsp vanilla extract

160g plain flour

60g cocoa powder

1 tsp bread soda

¼ tsp salt

To make the chocolate chip batter, add the butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar to a bowl and cream together. Add the egg, egg yolk and vanilla extract

and mix. Add the flour, bread soda, salt and chocolate chips and mix together. Cover and refrigerate while making the chocolate batter.

For the chocolate batter, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Add the egg, egg yolk and vanilla and mix.

Add the flour, cocoa powder, bread soda and salt and combine.

Portion both sets of dough into teaspoon sized balls. Taking one chocolate chip ball and one chocolate ball, press them together and gently form into a flat, but thick cookie shape. Lay out on a lined baking tray.

Bake for 10 minutes at 190˚C/375°F/Gas 5.

Remove from oven and leave to cool on a wire rack.
