Strawberry scones
Perfect strawberry scones, great for picnics and afternoon snacks.

200g self raising flour

½ tsp baking powder

½ tsp cinnamon

60g butter

50g caster sugar

200g strawberries, hulled

4 tbsp milk

Preheat oven to 220°C/425°F/Gas mark 7.

Line a baking tray with a sheet of baking paper.

Sift the flour and baking powder in to a bowl.

Add cinnamon, butter and rub in until it resembles breadcrumbs.

Stir in sugar, strawberries and enough milk to form a dough.

Bring together and knead on a lightly floured surface.

Roll out to 2.5cm thick and cut out circle shapes with a scone or cookie cutter.

Lay out scones on to prepared baking tray.

Transfer to oven for around 15 mins or until golden.
