Unbelievable banana bread

This beautiful bread, packed with potassium makes for a delicious wholesome treat.
150g self-rising flour
50g brown sugar, firmly packed
40g dates, chopped
30g walnuts, chopped
100g butter
2 eggs, beaten
4 over-ripe bananas, mashed
Preheat the oven to 180°C / 350°F / Gas mark 4
Prepare a 14x20cm loaf tin by greasing with butter.
Sift the flour into a large mixing bowl. Stir through the sugar, dates and walnuts.
Heat a saucepan on medium and melt the butter.
Pour the butter over the mixture and combine well.
Add the eggs and mashed banana and mix through.
Spoon into the loaf tin.
Bake for about 50-55 minutes until a skewer comes out clean (cover with foil if it starts to brown too much around the 40 minute mark).
Let cool before slicing and serving.
