Sherri Papini has reportedly packed up and left her California home, following speculation regarding her alleged abduction last month.
Sherri, a mother-of-two, was found bound and beaten at the side of a road on Thanksgiving. She told police that she had been kidnapped and held captive by two Hispanic women.
Once word broke that Sherri had been found, three weeks after her disappearance, locals began to speculate that something about the story didn’t quite add up.
Ever since, Sherri and husband Keith have found themselves at the centre of controversy, with some people claiming that they planned and faked the abduction.
Matters took an even more dramatic turn last week, when Keith decided to respond to the accusations with a TV interview disclosing sensitive details from Sherri’s abduction.
Indeed, local police were left 'blindsided' and shocked when Keith revealed how Sherri had been beaten and branded, on live TV.
Now, the New York Post claims that the Papini family have left their home.
The publication quoted a neighbour, who confirmed that the couple and their children have gone up ‘north’ to live with ‘wealthy relatives’.
“I don’t think they’re ever coming back here again,” the local said.
Let’s hope that the family – the children, in particular – get the privacy they need right now.
