Mechanic dad Steve Denyer had no choice but to deliver his third child, after his wife went into labour at home.

During the birth of his first child, Steve had appendicitis, which meant he missed the birth of little Mason, now five.

During the delivery of their second child, the squeamish dad-of-two fainted at the sight of blood.

Luckily, he was able to make up for this with their third after wife Kirsty went into labour at their home in West Sussex and Steve had no choice but to help deliver the baby.

Mr Denyer said: “I was disappointed at missing the first birth and the second was my fault because I was a bit squeamish. But I couldn't really get out of being there for the third.”

He followed the instructions from a dispatcher and was relieved to find he did such a good job.

“When the baby's head appeared, the lady on the phone told me to wipe it’s face from nose to mouth and as I did that he let out a cry. She said that was exactly what she wanted to hear, and at that moment I felt so relieved,” he said.

The paramedics then arrived to finish the delivery and Kirsty gave birth to a healthy boy who they named Ollie Junior.
