This mum-to-be who is five months pregnant had a very lucky escape indeed after she fell onto train tracks from the platform above.
The incident, which happened in China, was caught on camera and shows the woman’s very narrow escape from tragedy.
The woman, named Yue Yan Mai, explained the moment she found herself in danger: “It seemed to take ages for the train to arrive and when I thought I heard something, I leaned out onto the platform to see if I could see it in the tunnel. I just toppled over. It was a combination of being tired and having more weight than I’m used to – and suddenly I found myself lying in front of the train. To say it was terrifying would be an understatement.”
Both mum and her baby bump were looked after in a Beijing hospital and are doing just fine thankfully.
The driver of the train was later praised for his ability to act so fast and avoid a tragedy with a spokesperson saying: “I dread to think that would have happened if the driver had not acted so quickly.”
