This week’s shop took much less time as I now know where most of the items I needed are located in the store. Again the store wasn’t overly busy so there was no battling my way around the aisles which I hate.

We decided to have a BBQ given the fine weather so I picked up some Striploin Steaks at €4.29 each for Desy and myself.

I had planned to take a picture of these when they were cooked but they looked too good we couldn’t wait to eat them!

They were delicious and I will definitely be buying these again. I also picked up a pack of 4 chicken legs for €2.79 which was a real bargain, they were tasty and had a plenty of meat on them.

My other bargain buy this week was a bag of frozen oven chips for 0.73c, my normal brand is over €3 a bag so massive savings here.  I picked up a box of Ice-Creams sandwiches as a treat for the kids and they were devoured so at €2.99 for a box of 8, it was very good value.

I bought some mince for €3.59 which I cooked up with some bolognese sauce and then divided up into individual portions and popped them into the freezer. This is one of staple dinners in my house as anyone that knows me can testify, so happy that this worked out much cheaper per portion with my Lidl purchases.

Week 3 and I have to admit I am impressed with the overall quality and range of products Lidl has to offer. When I started out I really thought I was going to have to supplement my Lidl shopping in order to get everything I need but I have been proven wrong.  This week’s shop came to €115 and I would say that in my usual supermarket this would have been €50 to €60 more expensive.
