So it looks like Kerry Katona has come under fire once again (honestly, that woman probably carries a fire extinguisher like the rest of us carry handbags) for appearing to ‘publicly shame’ her 13-year-old daughter, Molly McFadden, on Twitter.

Kerry took to social media to chastise her teen daughter for not keeping a tidy bedroom, but her 21st century approach to the issue has not gone down well with some corners of the media, with a few being quick to suggest that Kerry’s posts may have done more harm than good.

Concerned that Molly will expire from mortification that we now know she doesn’t sleep in a room straight out of an IKEA catalogue, critics have suggested that Kerry should have kept the matter to herself and not shared the information with 443,000 people.

Let’s get some things in perspective here; teens have messy bedrooms. End of story. Befouling a pristine room is practically the main purpose in a teen’s life (apart from eating, crying and plotting their escape from their family’s claw-like grip) and here’s the other thing; they really don’t care that that’s the case.

If they cared, they’d clean. See the contradiction? The 13-year-old is probably more embarrassed that her mother even has a Twitter account (I mean, it’s practically the equivalent of seeing your dad in the local when you’re finally able to get served there) than the fact she let slip Molly’s just not that big into dusting.

For anyone concerned about Molly’s well-being during this difficult time, be assured that mum-of-five, Kerry, who generously spent hours helping her daughter clean her room, merely took to Twitter to highlight the normality of family life and the joy of living with a teenage girl.

If the rest of us could be as lighthearted about our teen's shortcomings as Kerry appears to be. we may find the key to serious domestic bliss.
