Each trimester of pregnancy brings its own joys and discomforts. These discomforts vary from mother to mother, and you will most likely experience some but probably not all of the common pregnancy discomforts.
First Trimester:
This is when most mothers experience the bulk of their nausea, referred to as morning sickness. Mothers have to be super cautious and begin changing lifestyle habits such as smoking, drinking, and caffeine. This can cause discomfort for those who are used to certain habits, but is a necessary lifestyle change. Plus there is breast tenderness and fatigue to deal with.
Second Trimester:
Often the second trimester is hailed as the best part of pregnancy. The nausea has often passed, energy has returned, and your body is only beginning to physically change. However, there are aches and pains associated with body changes and the possibility of heartburn is high.
Third Trimester:
As your body grows, it becomes difficult to do normal things like bending over, sitting down, or standing for long periods of time. There is a high possibility of chronic fatigue, your immune system is weaker, the possibilities of yeast and urine infection is higher, stretch marks, breathlessness, and difficulty sleeping are all part of the later part of pregnancy.
While there is no way to prevent these discomforts, there are ways to help. Eating right, drinking plenty of water, and avoiding stress are all key. Ensuring that you get enough rest and that you take care of yourself are the best ways to avoid at least some of these discomforts.
