Baked potato
The perfect baked potato has crispy skin and a fluffy centre.

Baking potatoes (all roughly the same size)
A little olive oil or vegetable oil
Coarse salt or sea salt

Preheat the oven to 180°C or gas mark 4.

Wash the potatoes and dry thoroughly

Using a sharp knife or a fork pierce each potato deeply

Massage each potato with oil and sprinkle generously with salt

Place in a roasting tin and bake for approx 45 mins

The potatoes are cooked when they are tender when pierced with a fork
