Cheese sticks
This is a great to use for lunchboxes and it travels really well too. The recipe is also a good one for the kids to help with

1 egg, lightly beaten

30ml milk

4 sheets puff pastry (thawed if frozen)

350g strong mature cheddar cheese, grated

Preheat the oven to 180°C / 350°F / Gas Mark 4. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.

Remove your pastry sheets from the freezer and allow to thaw.

Mix the egg and milk together and brush over one surface of each pastry sheet.

Sprinkle the cheddar cheese equally over two pastry sheets and cover with the other 2 sheets, pressing flat.

Cut into 8 strips of equal size and place them on the prepared baking tray.

Lift each one, twisting as you lift and return them back to the baking tray.

Brush with egg wash.

Bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
