Date and oat slice
These dairy-free, wholegrain slices are great for snacking on throughout the day.

130g wholemeal flour

1 tsp baking powder

90g brown sugar

50g jumbo oats

15 individual dates, chopped

2 tbsp sunflower seeds

1 tbsp dairy-free spread, melted

2 eggs, lightly beaten

Preheat oven to 180°C/350°F/Gas 4.

Grease a 20cm square tin with a little dairy-free spread and line with baking parchment.

In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar, oats, dates and sunflower seeds.

Add the beaten egg and dairy-free spread to the bowl and mix together well.

Spoon the mix into the prepared tin and smooth the top with a spatula.

Bake for about 20 minutes until golden on top.

Leave to cool on a wire rack before cutting into squares.
