Dulce de leche
Delicious caramel style spread which is perfect for spreading on crumpets and pancakes.
200g butter
200g light brown sugar
3 tbsp golden syrup
1 tsp vanilla extract
400ml double cream
Place the butter, light brown sugar, golden syrup and vanilla extract into a saucepan and melt over a low heat until the sugar has dissolved.
Add the double cream and continue heating gently fro about 15 minutes.
Once the mixture has thickened, pour into jars and cover with a lid.
Can be stored in the fridge for 2 weeks.
