Halloween spider cupcakes

Buns:

125g butter

125g self raising flour

125g caster sugar

2 large eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

1-2 tbsp milk

Icing:

300g icing sugar

Warm water

Food colour

White chocolate - grated

Smarties and sprinkles

Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F/Gas 4

Place butter, flour, caster sugar and eggs in a large bowl and mix until well combined. 

Add in the vanilla and milk and mix a little to combine.   

Spoon into the 12 bun cases.

Cook for 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown.

Remove from oven and allow to cool fully on wire rack.

To make the icing, place the icing sugar in a bowl and add in two tablespoons of warm water.

Add a few drops of your chosen food colouring and mix.

You may need to add a little more water.  The consistency should be thick, paste like, not runny. 

Sprinkle grated chocolate over the top and decorate with Smarties and sprinkles.
