Homemade beans on toast
Rustic, flavoursome beans dish

1 medium onion, chopped

3 garlic cloves, finely chopped

2 tbsp olive oil

1 tsp paprika

1 tin of chopped tomatoes

2 tbsp maple syrup

2 tsp worcesteshire sauce

1x 450g tin canellini beans

1x 450g tin of butter beans

Thick crusty bread, toasted

Fry the onion and garlic with the olive oil until softened.

Add paprika and tin of chopped tomatoes.

Add worcesteshire sauce, tomato puree and maple syrup and simmer.

Add beans and leave over a low heat to reduce a little.

Serve over crusty toasted bread.
