Simple picnic sausage rolls
Little sausage rolls go a long way well for the kids and they need not be store bought anymore with this easy family friendly recipe.

375g ready-rolled puff pastry sheet

6 Cumberland sausages

1 egg yolk

1 tbsp milk

Preheat the oven to 220°C / 425°F / Gas mark 7.

Line a baking tray with greaseproof paper and set aside.

Unroll the pastry and cut it down the middle lengthways.

Remove the skin from the sausages and layer them along the length of pastry.

Cut the pastry across so that each sausage sits on its own square.

Mix the yolk and milk together and brush the edge of each square, then wrap them up.

Press the edges gently together and lay joined-side down evenly on the prepared tray.

Brush the tops with the rest of the egg mix and bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden.
