Spicy Asian beef
A slow cooked spiced dish that soaks up the Asian flavours well and perfect for a weekend treat or indeed a mid-week meal for everyone to enjoy.
 

700g roasting beef (cut into chunks and all visible fat removed)

1 tbsp cornstarch

1 tsp sesame oil

1 onion, roughly chopped

4 spring onions, chopped

3 cloves of garlic, crushed

1 red chilli, finely chopped

1 green pepper, roughly chopped

200g mushrooms, sliced

1 tbsp freshly grated ginger

4-5 tbsp dark soy sauce

4 tbsp light soy sauce

3 tbsp of rice vinegar

135ml water

1 tsp sugar

Black pepper to season

Some freshly chopped spring onion to decorate

Stir fried vegetables and jasmine rice, to serve

Place the meat in a zip lock bag, add the cornstarch shaking it to evenly coat.

Add the meat and all other ingredients to the slow cooker, set to the low for 8 hours.

Top with some freshly chopped spring onion.

Serve with some quickly stir fried fresh vegetables and sticky jasmine rice.
