Spider web chocolate cake

Stunning spider web topped chocolate cake for Halloween.
Chocolate cake
340g butter
340g caster sugar
6 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
225g self-raising flour
1 tsp baking powder
100g cocoa powder
140ml milk
Chocolate glaze
100g dark chocolate
100ml cream
White icing
50g icing sugar
100g melted white chocolate
Preheat oven to 180°C/350°F/Gas 4.
Grease and line a 9-inch springform cake tin.
Beat together the butter and caster sugar.
Add 6 eggs one at at a time, beating between each addition.
Sift in the flour and baking powder.
Add the milk and mix together well.
Bake in the preheated oven for 35 minutes.
To make the chocolate glaze, melt together the dark chocolate and the cream in the microwave for about 1 minute, then whisk until you have a smooth and glossy glaze.
Pour the glaze over the top of the chocolate cake, allow to set.
To make the white icing mix together the icing sugar and melted white chocolate. Add the mix to a piping bag.
Create a spiral design beginning at the centre of the chocolate cake, moving all the way out to the edge. Drag a toothpick from the centre of the spiral to the edge.
