With summer now in full swing, we understand that parents are looking for different ways to spend fun, quality time with the kids. Netflix has loads of great TV shows and movies that are perfect for entertaining the whole family, helping you make the most of your time together.

With terrific kids’ series like Horrid Henry, iCarly and Spongebob Squarepants, as well as brilliant family films such as Tangled, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and Lilo & Stitch, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Netflix is available anywhere where there’s a Wi-Fi connection, and can be watched on numerous devices, including mobiles, tablets, smart TVs and games consoles. Visit our Netflix Kids page to see our top family picks, and read recommendations from other mums.

So, how are your family using Netflix this summer? Are your little ones winding down by watching their favourite show after a big day out? Are the grandparents and kids bonding over a shared love for Toy Story 3? Is Netflix providing some much-needed respite on a rainy day? What else has been keeping your children happy in the holidays? Whatever it is, we’d love to hear it.

We are definitely a Netflix family in our house .. Turbo, Barbie, Tangled are all firm favourites, and it's so great that we can watch them over and over and it's all at the touch of a button. Needless to say, the kids know exactly how to use it, and I have to say it never fails on a Saturday morning - great time to spend with the kids when all the reset of the world is quiet. And in the evening too ... there's never a squeek when I tell them playtime is over and it's time to come in.
Myself and the hubby are catching up on boxsets - and with normal TV so utterly disapointing on a daily basis - Netflix is a live saver. We rarely even turn on normal TV we're thinking about cancelling our other TV subscription and keeping Netflix only. Brilliant that we can have it on the move also.
Would deffo recommend, much cheaper than anything else out there, great fun for all the family.

I'll confess ... I'm utterly addicted to OITNB, it's flippin brilliant. I get the kids to bed and DH and I are stuck in for the evening. We're trying not to binge like we did on Breaking Bad (boo that it's finished, boo I tell you) but it's hard not to.
The kids get their time after camp and playing on the road. And they LOVE it. We've decided to incentivise them - so by getting chores done the get to watch, or chose what to watch - we've actually got quite a harmonious house now that I've introduced it. Good stuff Netflix - you're making differences more than you would even realise.

I only have one complaint about Netflix ... the kids have taken over!!!! So now ... I have to sneak around trying to fit in an episode of Gossip Girl or Orange is the new black, while the kids are in bed or on a playdate. Mind you ... it's been a bit of a god send this summer, we've been away visiting family in Ireland a lot this year, and the kids would've been absolutely demented without the laptop / tablet to watch what they wanted. Gives everyone a bit of a breather. Then later in the evening, the grown ups can watch a movie together. Great stuff Netflix, we are all really enjoying.

This summer, I have never been so happy to have Netflix at home. It has something for everyone and means there's always something on that we want to watch. The kids love their shows (and watching them over and over and over) and on the weekends, or a less busy summer evening, we do movie night, with one person getting to choose each evening. Wtih so much choice available it could be anything - a movie, a show - what ever the kids want, and we all cosy down on the couch together.
Very happy with Netflix and they service they offer, reliable, best value out there and keeps everyone in the family (young and old) happy out. Good stuff.
Netflix fan, Cork

Would have been absolutely lost this summer without Netflix - we have 2yo twins and a 2 month old, so keeping them all entertained has been a challenge. Its really handy to have kids shows for them to watch especially when I'm cuaght up with the littliest one. And then when they are all in bed (it does happen sometimes !!!) me and DH can catch up on House of Cards - loving it. I also manage to sneak in an episode or two when I'm up at ungodly hours. I'd have been lost without Netflix.

We're addicted to Toy Story in our house .. over and over and over again. It's a good thing it's a great movie - perfect family viewing, even though the youngest always falls asleep before the end :)

Have totally gotten into Orange is the New Black, just finished watching the first season and have the second one to go ... woo hoo!
Happy mum, happy family - thanks Netflix.

My sister and I have recently found Netflix and we're both catching up on what everyone has been talking about - we've started with Breaking Bad ... oh my! We have special Netlfix evenings, after the kids have gone to bed, we watch in tandem - and chat online while watching it. Best fun ever! I don't think we'll ever grow up ha ha.

Me and the other haalf really enjoy watching Modern Family - such a great show.
The kids get their fair share too - Cloudy for the older one and Bubble Guppies for the youngest.
Love Netflix.

We've had so much fun watching lots of diferent stuff on Netflix - I love that on a Saturday night there is ALWAYS something good to watch, no more channel surfing settling for useless TV. So far we've watched Suits, a Louis Theroux documentary, some films includingi Fargo, The Other Guys and comedy from Michael McIntyre. The kids have enjoyed watching Toy Story and Cloudy.
Have cancelled the subscription to standard TV, we have everything we need with Netflix.

Me and the other half are absolutely addicted to documentaries - and so the perfect place for us is Netflix. There used to be a channel on TV for documentaries but it's been replaced with some useless reality TV. We're only new to Netlxi but totally lovin it. Lots of choice with documentaries from Stephen Fry, one on Steve Jobs, Frozen Planet, political ones etc there's something for everyone.
Needless to say the kids to occasionally get a look in and love their shows too.
Netflix is well worth the money - really cheqp, free first month, endless viewing and NO ADS!! LOVE LOVE LOVE

There's a real mixture of loves in our house, the little fella loves his nature programmes, and my daughter loves anything princess related, me and the hubby are just happy out to have lots of choice on there and then at the touch of a button, no need to record, pause and watch later, see what you've watched before and watcha full boxset in the one go.
This summer has been filled with lots of out door days and fun get aways, but we've definitely benefited from having Netflix - at home, on the go, on hols ... it's been a brilliant at entertaining the whole family. Highly recommend.

Never really considered being addicted to something - until I started watching OITNB and BReaking BAd ... am totally hooked. So it's late night TV watching and some (very) early morning snippits while feeding my munchken.
We've had friends and relatives over for dinner - so the house is filled with kids who want to be entertained and adults looking for a little break ... enter Netflix - switch it on and leave htem to it and they are happy as Larry.
Great stuff Netflix, love all the kids stuff - it's so handy, like having an in house entertainment / babysitter.

My three have just discovered Lilo and Stich - and they are enthralled. I must confess, I do switch it on at the end of the evening when we're nearing the witching hour and things can go so badly so quickly for no reason whatsoever. Great time for mummy to get things sorted, kids dress for bed while watching it and by the time we're finished they're happily off to bed. Winner.
I really enjoy catching up on rom com movies (which my hubby refuses to go to with me) so i'm glued to them ever chance I get. But the really great thing is that we can switch on something that suits any of us at any time. So everyone's happy.

New to Netflix and haven't got fully into the box sets, but they're definitely on my list. This weekend, as with most summer weekends, we'll be having a big family movie night - we get treats and decide on two movies, everyone gets to vote - this weekend we will be watching The Smurfs and A Bug's LIfe.
Netflix is a brilliant thing to have - always there ready to tur on whatn you need it, the kids absolutely love our weekend movie night, it's a great way to spend time together as a family. And it's so much cheaper than going out.

This is the funniest thing ... I was just browsing through the website with my little one beside me on her DS, when she looked up and saw the Tangled ad and said how she would just love to watch Tangled, that it was her 'favourite ever ever'.
We've now signed up to Netlfix and tonight, we will be watching Tangled. I knew about Netflix before, but to be honest, I've never really taken the time to check it out properly - I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised, there's an awful lot there suitable for every member of the family - have to say am very happy to have found it. I think we're sorted for my little one's weekend slumber parties with her cousins for the rest of the summer. Lol

When you can get brilliant movies like The Godfather, Pulp Fiction and Donnie Brasco for mum and dad. And movies like My Little Pony, Disney's Tarzan, and Ella Enchanted for the kids - you've got the perfect combination. Not to mention allt he nature and documentary shows for nan when she comes visiting on a Sunday - Netflix is perfect for our little family.
And the best part? No committments, cancel at any time and no ads. TV has never been so good.
