With summer now in full swing, we understand that parents are looking for different ways to spend fun, quality time with the kids. Netflix has loads of great TV shows and movies that are perfect for entertaining the whole family, helping you make the most of your time together.

With terrific kids’ series like Horrid Henry, iCarly and Spongebob Squarepants, as well as brilliant family films such as Tangled, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and Lilo & Stitch, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Netflix is available anywhere where there’s a Wi-Fi connection, and can be watched on numerous devices, including mobiles, tablets, smart TVs and games consoles. Visit our Netflix Kids page to see our top family picks, and read recommendations from other mums.

So, how are your family using Netflix this summer? Are your little ones winding down by watching their favourite show after a big day out? Are the grandparents and kids bonding over a shared love for Toy Story 3? Is Netflix providing some much-needed respite on a rainy day? What else has been keeping your children happy in the holidays? Whatever it is, we’d love to hear it.

HAving missing Homeland when it was first on, I'm enjoying the opportunity to catch wtih Brody et al, and it's flippin fantastic having all the episodes there ready to watch in one go - not that I ever would of course. Good lord no LOL. The kids love to switch on and flick through their shows and decide what they'll watch - of course they know how to work it better than I can!!! Which is actually quite brilliant - because when early Saturday morning or Sunday morning swings around and mummy needs to sleep passed, oh I don't know, 6am, it's a welcomed break when you can say 'yes you're allowed switch on Netlfix'.
Great value, and a life saver for a tired and weary mummy

We signed up for our free month before hte kids broke for school and we haven't looked back since. It's a great source for the family, and we use it daily. The kids obviously enjoy their kids shows, but they also enjoy movies iwth mum and dad, and of course the obligatory nature show on a Sunday evening.

I quite like Netflix. We don't use any other television service in our hoseu at all, so everything we watch is on Netflix. And to be honest we don't miss out at all. The kids section is great, lots to choose from. The film section is good too with a good mix of old and new (although we coudl probably do with a few more new ones - but that's always the way when you've been watching something for a while, or going to the cinema a lot you always find there's not enough new stuff). And the number of TV show box sets in brilliant. Couldn't be better value, well worth it, and no ads - bliss!

Netflix for my family is a good mix of everything available - we've been using it for almost a year now. Enjoy that there are movies for all the family and I like the synopsis they give on each, but the TV box set selection is totes amaze. You can watch everything in one go, or leave it there and come back later - no one deleting it or the recorder filling up or getting a part reecorded shwo. IT's just brill..

I first got Netflix to watch the boxsets that everyone was talking about (Orange is the new black, Breaking Bad etc) and they were great, but there is so much more to it than that, I've been watching documentaries, including one about a guy who tested how much community spirit is around by living off Craigslist - flipping great stuff.
The kids stuff is brilliant too, and great to have it on tap when I need it. We often have the kids in from the road when it's a rainy summer day and have a mini netflix party. Great fun altogether.

My friend told me about Netlfix as I was moaning about there being nothing on TV, and given that i was paying 90E a month I figured I was wasting my money. Netflix gave me one month free and less than 8E a month after that. Iit was a no brainer.
Great shows, films, kids stuff - there's nothing else I need. Cancelled the 90E service after that and haven't looked back sinnce. Even better than that, we cna bring it on holidays and keep the kids occupied when needed and mum and dad get to watch a movie or too as well.
Brilliant.

House of Cards has been my guilty pleasure this summer ... never got a chance to watch it when it started, but now I have, and I'm utterly addicted. I allow myself my evenings when the kids finally get to sleep, I chill out with my cuppa and an episode or two. And the best part - the very best part is NO ADS. So cool. AND I never have to deal with a part recorded episode ... which always happens on my normal TV recording box.
The kids are loving Tangled and Turbo. We've had a brilliant summer with mum and kids all loving their Netflix time.

Aside from the really cheap monthly payment and the fact that it's got something for everyone in the family to watch, and the fact that there are no ads - having Netflix at home AND on the go has been the best thing about it this summer. We've done a lot of 'staycations' this year and going to places where there's limited entertainment for the kids - having expensive days out every day isn't always possible, but the kids are always happy to do simple things during the day - a picnic in the park, a walk in the forest and then when we get home, getting to choose a show from Netlix for us to watch on the computer. They kids see this as their treat. It's so handy to have. And of course, mum and dad get to watch their shows in the evening. Works for everyone really.

I'm guilt of watching a sneaky episode of OITNB while the kids are at swimming and I'm sitting outside in the car waiting. Waiting has never been so much fun :)
Really good value package, great range of shows available. Netflix does it for our family.

We've never been huge telly fans in our house, mainly I suppose because I never feel there are worthwhile things to watch. The reason I enjoy Netflix with my family is that there is always soemthing we can specifically choose to line up and watch rather than flicking aimless through rubbish. The documentaries available are fantastic, and we all love watching the nature shows. The little ones are absolutely thrilled with having Toy Story on tap. And having no ads to tempt them is a great idea.

There are three kids in our house (not to mention the streams of friends and cousins who visit daily as well) so there was always rows about who would watch what and when - with Netflix you can have separate devices and allow each of them choose - so we've got the TV, lap top and the tablet - phew, it keeps everyone happy. Myself and DH are really getting into the boxsets - with Breaking Bad our current fave.

This summer every Friday me and my little ones take a break from all the activities and camps and have a lovely afternoon watching their favourite shows on Netflix. So often there are busy things to do, to get to, to go to etc so it's nice to stop and just enjoy the time. Taht's what me and my kids are doing this summer and Netflix allows us to do that together.

Netflix is the one thing that every familiy should have, especially when going away on holls. We have had a few trips away, between trips to granny in the country to renting a house for the extended family in Cork. Every time we've been away, we have been so relieved to have had access to Netlfix. During the day when the little ones are tired, but don't want to come in for their nap becuase the older ones are still out playing, they've been convinced otherwise with the help of Netflix. And then in the evening, we've got a huge range to keep the older little ones happy. And of course, a movie or two for the grown ups. Big happy families.

We haven't been on Netflix long, signed up with the watch with Mummypages club started - wanted to know when everyone was on about lol Wink
Have to say though, have really enjoyed catching up on the boxsets, myself and DH have been watching Breaking Bad, and House of Cards - two brilliant shows. can't believe I hadn't seen them before, and I now see why everyone has been raving about them. The kids are really enjoying getting to choose their own shows - and they take it in turn. Everyone's happy.
