With summer now in full swing, we understand that parents are looking for different ways to spend fun, quality time with the kids. Netflix has loads of great TV shows and movies that are perfect for entertaining the whole family, helping you make the most of your time together.

With terrific kids’ series like Horrid Henry, iCarly and Spongebob Squarepants, as well as brilliant family films such as Tangled, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and Lilo & Stitch, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Netflix is available anywhere where there’s a Wi-Fi connection, and can be watched on numerous devices, including mobiles, tablets, smart TVs and games consoles. Visit our Netflix Kids page to see our top family picks, and read recommendations from other mums.

So, how are your family using Netflix this summer? Are your little ones winding down by watching their favourite show after a big day out? Are the grandparents and kids bonding over a shared love for Toy Story 3? Is Netflix providing some much-needed respite on a rainy day? What else has been keeping your children happy in the holidays? Whatever it is, we’d love to hear it.

There's a lot of choice with Netflix for the kids (and the bigger kids) which means everyone is kept happy during the loooooong summer holidays. I'll be honest, I'm looking forward to kids going back to school, so we can all get into a routine again. We'll still be keeping up our weekend family night when the kids get to select what the family will watch.

I never realised how much there was on Netflix, I'm very glad i joined up and am seriously considering getting rid of our normal TV service. There's plenty on there to keep everyone happy with kids shows and movies along with documentaries and movies for mum and dad. so glad I joined up.

I signed up to Netflix a year or two ago, it was a much better value option for our family at the time. We've really enjoyed having it, but this summer especially, the kids are getting bigger, and while we were away on holidays, it was so nice in the evening, before bed, to watch a movie (that was available at the touch of a button). I'll admit it was also flippin fantastic to have early morning activity while mummy and daddy caught a few more zzzzz's. It wasn't exactly a lie in getting up at 7.30, but a vast inprovement on 6am! Thank you Netflix our family are really enjoying the entertainment :)

Hi, my name is Fiona. I am a Netflix Mum Ambassador for MummyPages. My family and I have just returned from our holidays, and it was just amazing. We love Netflix - and it was just great while we were away as the kids were able to watch movies in the evening. Check out our video here.

As a granny, we find Netflix really good value for money, and it's a fanttastic thing to have when the kids come around. We don't always have the energy to do the things we used to.

The kids have been glued to Netflix this summer, it's been absolutely excellent to have. We use it on the TV and games console (my son looks after this ... wouldn't have a clue myself ha ha). No fighting over who watches what when. Just happy kids. Which equals happy mum. THank you Netflix.

This summer we decided to do a few small staycations, we were lucky that the weather wasn't bad and it was so nice to be out and about in parts of Ireland that you just never have time to see. What was a total life saver though was having Netflix on the lap top and on my phone - when the kids got cranky and tired, it was literally my life saver. They were so happy to watch their shows and gave everybody a little down time. Brilliant service from Netflix and unbelievable value for money.

I recently joined Netflix to watch OITNB - had seen it on mummypages and thought it sounded right up my street - and it soooo was! But who knew there was so much else on it ... I really thought it was just a few box sets, but there's tonnes of stuff there with boxsets, kids shows, films, documentaries, comedy ... loads. I reckon me and the kids will be occupied for a while Tongue

Love love love Netflix ... great for hte kids, great for mum and dad too. Have totally addicted to Breaking Bad this summer ... never seemed to have the time to watch it until now. Just flippin grea.t Not sure what we'll do when we're finished it.
Kids have Turbo on repeat. Any time we have those tense moments in the house - you know them, over hungry, over tire etc etc it's Turbo to the resuce.
I'm not sure everyone realises how cheap Netflix is and what you get for you. Sure why would you choose anything else?

I have two things I'd like to confess.
1. I watch Gossip Girl in the morning when my little on takes a nap.
2. I use Netflix to babysit when the cousins call over.
There. I feel so much better now.
Seriously though, aside from the guilty pleasures of GG and the free babysitter, I'm totally enjoying having Netflix on hand all the time. You get so sick of the same old rubbish on TV - I've totally given up on the soaps I actually think they make me depressed.
So thumbs up Netflix. Well played.

It's nice to be able to choose something kiddy friendly on the tv without the ads and the ability for them to flick around on to other stuff that I dont' want them to watch.
Personally I think there's nothing better than ad free tv, but maybe that's just eme.
Its' well worth the small monthly payment :)

Why oh why oh why ... did I not knwo about this sooner. This summer we have been mostly watching Netflix. In fact always watching it. There's an endless selection on offer. There is always something good to watch. The streaming is faultless. And being able to bring it with you when you're out of the house is just fantastic. It has changed everything ... waiting for kids to finish summer camp, they're running behind? No problem, my tablet is out and Netflix is on. Going to a friends house for a long overdue catch up but the little ones are playing ball? No problem - out comes the tablet.
Great service. It just works.

I think overall that Netflix is a great service, it's really good value for money, it's at the touch of a button, it's mobile, and it's got something for big and little kids and the grown ups too. However, I know have one BIG issue - my DH is insisting on watching the likes of The Hobbit, Thor and Avengers ... honestly, I feel like I'll never get a look in. It would be amazing to have my own little viewing device, oh lets say a Mini IPad, so I could have watch the stuff I like. I guess one can only hope :) :) :) :)

We use Netflix on every device at home - so we use Apple TV to watch it on the main TV. We have it on the ipad too as that's really handy for the kids shows. And then I've watched it on my laptop too which is handy for bringing to bed and watching a good movie. I guess we're the versatile Netflix family!
