2017 hasn’t been an easy year. In fact, it’s felt downright apocalyptic at times. However, we have found EXACTLY what the world needs at this trying time: the cutest known video of a baby wrapped up in a blanket with a tiny kitten.
The video was posted to Hello Little – Milwaukee this month. Erin and Theresa Rouse took the video of their cousin’s baby and the kitten, OnMilwaukee reports. The adorable clip has almost 3M views on Facebook now as well as 53K shares!
Erin told OnMilwaukee, “We were in Texas and my cousin had given birth to gorgeous baby Lainey three weeks prior so we decided to do a newborn session in Erin's parent's dining room.”
The couple are professional newborn photographers. Lainey at first was bored with having her picture taken, so Erin and Theresa decided to instead take pictures of the kitten, who Erin’s mom had found on the side of the road and bottle-fed back to health.
"One thing led to another and we posed the kitten with baby Lainey and took a couple of quick videos,” Theresa said, also noting that they did not expect the video to go viral.
“We never expected anything to come of the videos - we're not exactly social media mavens so the fact that this has grown this much continues to shock us every day,” she continued.
Erin and Theresa also cautioned people about taking pictures of newborns with animals.
“It's important to note that this kitten was brand new – just a few weeks old – and was very milk drunk and sedated at the time of this session. We would never recommend that anyone should pose a newborn with a kitten unless you really know animals and newborn photography,” Erin said, “It's such a highly specialized area of photography, and it is so important that these little humans are handled with great care and experienced hands.”
The couple brought the kitten home with them, naming him ‘Eleven’, not after the Stranger Things character but because he is their 11th pet together.
