What are my 7 seater options?

Looking for a 7-seater is all very well, but what if you have no idea on what's out there and don't want to trawl through all the car websites to figure out just how many seats a particular car has?  Who has the time anyway? We looked at what's available out there in various price ranges, and came up with our top 3 picks:

Fiat Doblo
From around €18,000 new, the new Doblo is at the cheaper end of the price range and provides a lot of space and versatility. You'll get good performance from the 1.3-litre diesel engine and will find the sliding doors very handy.  Low CO2 emmissions mean motor tax is low (from Band B). Exterior looks possibly could be better.

Peugeot 5008
We’re already converts to the versatile 5008 - it's a great all round family car. You can easily change the seat configuration to give more storage space. At just over €27,000 it's not the cheapest option, but Band B CO2 emissions mean that road tax is €156 a year and fuel economy is good.

Ford S-Max
The Ford S-Max is a great MPV, but starting at €36,000 it's on the pricey side. With a clever cabin, sharp handling and stylish looks, it’s a people carrier for those who don’t really want to own a seven-seater. Most diesel models fall into C Band for motor tax.

Nissan X-Trail 2014
We'll let our Mum-in-Residence take the lead on this one:
"To say I have fallen in love with the Nissan X-Trail is to put it mildly. From the moment I set my eyes on this beauty, I knew I had found ‘the one’. Its new sleek body is a far cry from the boxy older model, and yet it is not just all brawn and no brains; it is extremely family-friendly and more technologically advanced than myself!"
