It's important to be realistic about the outfit. They are only going to wear it for one day unless you buy something you can dye and turn into a party dress. Your little girl will look beautiful in any dress so don’t get feel as though you have to spend a small fortune on imported silk!
Dunnes stores and Tk Maxx both have wonderful selections that are both fashionable and affordable. It’s also a great idea to keep an eye on charity shops as it’s perfectly possible to dress your child from head-to-toe for as little as €30 to €80, depending on the dress and location of the shop. You will generally find that the dresses are in pristine condition.
Lots of parents are also ordering dresses online and getting some great bargains. You could even try auction sites, like eBay.
It’s also a good idea to keep an eye out for sales as many shops will have discounts a month or two before communion season.
Noone is going to be any the wiser as to where you bought the dress. Your little one will still look like a princess regardless of how much you have spent!
