A pub in Bishopstown, Cork, was forced to apologise after it sent out a tweet aimed at Leaving Cert students, who received their results earlier today.

The Bishopstown Bar sent out this morning that read: “Best of luck to all getting results. Remember we serve alcohol from 10.30am.”

The tweet soon attracted a lot of concerned people’s attention and was blasted as being inappropriate. The tweet was also a cause of concern to alcohol awareness groups.

The bar soon recognised the attention their tweet was attracting and deleted the offending tweet, replacing it with: “Due to a complaint we’ve had to remove our best of luck to result getters today. We apologise for any best wishes we wished people.”
