Earlier this month, police were called to a school after concerns were raised when four children had taken white powder.

Police revealed the children had believed the substance was sweets but actually turned out to be cocaine.

The students in Broadstone Middle School in Poole are not believed to have ingested the powder but were immediately taken to hospital for precautionary assessments.

Police in Dorset have now revealed a man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of drug offences.

The head teacher at Broadstone Middle School said of the incident in a statement:

“We can confirm that a child at our school was found in possession of what was believed to be a drug.”

She also said that the matter was handled “swiftly”.
