The new school year is just around the corner, and with it comes an opportunity for parents to take stock and adopt some new good habits.

In fact, according to Tesco, over half of parents start the term with a few new resolutions, with making healthier lunches being at the top of the list.

Beginning the school year by preparing healthy home cooked meals is also important for parents, with 33% of those surveyed admitting to bribing their children to eat vegetables.

But with the help of Tesco, who will have ‘dinner for under €5’ offers and a number of popular breakfast cereals and oats available on special offer, eating healthy won’t be a strain anymore and it will be so much more affordable.

However, it's not all about healthy eating when it comes to making a few changes in September. Many mums also pledge to fit in more family time during the weekend, help out with homework more or make better use of child-free time.

Understanding just how stressful back to school is for parents, particularly when it comes to the cost, Tesco has teamed up with Schoolbooks.ie to offer all Tesco Clubcard members the opportunity to earn Clubcard points with every €1 they spend on Schoolbooks.ie.

They also have a range of stylish back to school lunchboxes, bottles and bags starting from €1.50, so you can pick up a few essentials without breaking the bank.
