Spaghetti and meatballs
This cheap and tasty recipe is full of flavour as the meat in slowly cooked in the sauce.
 
 

500g minced beef

350g spaghetti, cooked

400g crushed tomatoes

1 egg

2 tbsp parmesan cheese, grated

3 garlic clove, crushed

1 onion, chopped finely

2 tsp oregano

3 tbsp breadcrumbs

25g unsalted butter

1 tbsp olive oil

Combine the beef, egg, parmesan, 1 clove of garlic, ½ onion, 1 tsb oregano and breadcrumbs together in a large bowl. Season with salt and pepper.

Use your hands to shape the mixture into balls

Heat the oil in a frying pan and gently cook the meatballs.

In a separate pot, heat some oil and butter together, adding 2 cloves of garlic, the rest of the onion, the oregano and the tomatoes. Cook for 10 minutes.

Place the meatballs in the sauce and cook for 20 minutes on a medium heat.

Serve with the spaghetti.
