Witch hat cupcakes
Yummy and spooky, these cupcakes are a real hit for Halloween!

200g sugar

125g flour

125g butter, melted

2 eggs

80ml milk

1 tsp vanilla

1 tsp baking powder

30g cocoa powder

For the buttercream

100g butter, at room temperature

200g icing sugar

1 tbsp vanilla extract

1 tbsp milk

For the decoration

12 mini cones

150g dark chocolate, melted

Gold sprinkles

Place all the ingredients for the cupcakes in a large mixing bowl and whisk with a hand mixer. Spoon the mixture into 12 paper lined muffin cups and bake at 180°C for 20 minutes or until an inserted skewer comes out clean. Let cool on a wire rack.

Meanwhile, make small discs of melted chocolate on a lined baking tray. Paint the cones with melted chocolate and place them on the coins to make witch hats. Decorate with mini gold sprinkles.

For the buttercream, whip the butter until pale and fluffy. Add the cocoa powder and vanilla extract and gradually add the icing sugar. Add a tablespoon of milk if needed. Pipe the buttercream on the cooled down cupcakes, then top with a witch hat.
