It used to be a rite of passage that on the last day of school, everyone would sign each others shirts.

It was a great way of capturing that time in our lives and keeping a piece of us with us always.

Until we grew up and moved out and forgot about that shirt.

But if we tried, we're sure we'd find that ratty thing somewhere in our childhood homes.

Well, this teacher decided to get in on the action by getting her students to decorate her dress.

Chris-ShaRee Castlebury shared the pictures of her dress and what her "precious Picassos" had done to it.

"This is all artwork courtesy of MY first grade class! Who am I wearing? ROOM 219" she wrote on Facebook as she modelled the stunning creation.

The teacher wanted to remember this years students as she hates to say goodbye.

Speaking to Today, she told the story behind the 'doodle dress'.

"It is a wonderful thing, but so sad each year to fall in love with these kids and then have to say ‘see ya later.’

"They become one big family to me. I never want to leave them. I cry happy tears every year seeing them grow so much."
