Consider what your child likes to eat at home and try to build that into their lunch box option
 
Vegetables are often forgotten about in the lunchbox. Try chopping up some carrots or popping in a handful of cherry tomatoes.
 
 While an apple is a great lunchbox filler, smaller pieces of fruit are more likely to be eaten. Berries, satsumas, kiwi fruit, grapes and pineapple are all great options.
 
Dairy can be hard to include, particularly in hot weather. If you can't safely get yoghurt into the lunch box, make sure you offer dairy after school.
 
Leftover dinner from the night before in a container with a small spoon can make a really welcome change from the all too common sandwich.
 
Try putting together a small picnic in her lunchbox - slices of tomato, ham, grated carrot, grated cheese and some bread and butter - so she can build her own sandwich.
 
Try to stick to just water in her drink bottle. Most juices are full of sugar and will make the drink-bottle smelly. Water is also always best to quench thirst.
