A brave little boy, who drew up a list of dreams to fulfil before he died of cancer, has passed away.

11-year-old Reece Puddington from Kent in the UK, was determined to buy a beach hut to give other sick kids a break from hospital treatment.

And thanks to a flood of donations, his appeal to fund ‘Reece’s Retreat’ has raised £18,000 of the £35,000 needed.

Reece died on Tuesday after a six-year battle with neuroblastoma. The boy revealed in February that his family had taken the brave decision to 'let him go', supporting him in stopping any life-prolonging treatment.

His last Facebook post on May 9th, read, “Don’t forget, although it’s too late for me to have a beach hut, lots of children could still benefit... so please keep the donations coming. Love Reece. x”

Reece went on, “Six years ago today I was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, so I feel it’s the perfect time to announce this will be my last update. I’m too weak and tired now.”

Announcing his death, heartbroken mum Kay wrote on Twitter yesterday, “Reece Puddington 6th December 2002 @12.11am – 20th May 2014 @12.11pm. Hobbit, Pirate and all round inspiration!”

Reese's wishes to fulfill when he got sick - which included meeting film star Johnny Depp dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow - touched hearts.

While his mum wasn't able to get a hold of the real actor, Reese was delighted to meet a Captain Jack impersonator in the flesh this year!

What an inspirational little boy.
