When Ryland Whittington began to show signs that she wished to be a boy, her parents chose to listen and seek second opinions.
When they realised that this was not a phase that their daughter was going through, they decided to take action.
Faced with the sad and shocking statistics of transgender people’s fate, they decided to transition Ryland into becoming a boy as soon as they could.
They allowed him to cut his hair, changed their language to “he/his” and allowed him to wear boy’s clothes.
Though they received a lot of criticism along the way, and even lost some friends, his parents say the true ones have stuck by them.
Their story will inspire you, Ryland is such a sweet and happy boy and has clearly come a long way.
