Raising boys can be tough and while the journey changes as your little grows, it certainly doesn’t become any easier.

And while some things will go in one ear and out the other, it is important you never let them forget the following:

That they are equal to women

Remind your son that men and women are equal to each other so that they will grow up with nothing but respect for them.

That you love them unconditionally

No matter how many times you may bicker with each other you love them unconditionally, and this is something they should never forget.

That you will always be there for them

Knowing that you will always be there for them no matter what will give them the confidence to face the world with power and strength.

That all men have the ability to be Prince Charming

Out of all the fairytales in all the books and films, the most important thing your son needs to realise is that they too have the qualities to be Prince Charming.

That you are doing your absolute best for them

We all make mistakes from time to time, but as long as your child knows that you are doing your absolute best for them, things will never be that bad.

That you respect them

Whether you agree with something your child wants to do or not, knowing that you respect their opinion will mean they can face any challenges knowing you are right behind them.

That you will guide them to the best of your ability

Mums don’t have all the answers but we will always try to guide our children to the best of our ability. Never let your child forget that.

That everything will be ok in the end

Times may be tough but once your child knows that things will turn out ok in the end they will be able to get through it

To never be afraid to make mistakes

Taking risks and trying new things is what life is all about, so make sure your son is never too frightened to give something a go.

It's never too late

It is never too late to try something new or do something that they really want.
