1. Waking up early on the first day of school is practically a pleasure.
 
 
2. The uniforms are freshly pressed and the kids have never been so clean in their lives.
 
 
3. And their school lunches look like they’ve jumped straight out of Pinterest.
 
 
4. Dropping the kids off at school, you look like a movie star.
 
 
5. And you can’t wait to catch up with all the parents.
 
 
6. You have new-found patience and are more than willing to help the kids out with their homework.
 
 
7. Each new art projects is treasured and pinned to the fridge.
 
 
8. You’re more than willing to help out with any September school events.
 
 
9. And you’re so glad is summer is over. Really, this must be what pure happiness feels like.
 
 
10. But then the weeks go on.
 
 
11. And by the end of September, the school term has lost its shine.
 
 
12. Mornings become more difficult.
 
 
13. The kids become crankier.
 
 
14. The laundry gets on top of you and more often than not, you’re scrambling to clean uniforms late on a Sunday night.
 
 
15. Lunches are barely recognisable as food.
 
 
16. Getting out of your pyjamas to drop the kids from school just seems like an impossible task.
 
 
17. And by this point you’ve remembered why you used to avoid all the parents.
 
 
18. The thing you dread most is being asked to bake something or volunteer at a school event.
 
 
19. And being asked to help with homework is pure torture. Also they’ve gone beyond the math you can remember how to do (IE: addition).
