A nine-year-old boy from Washington in the US managed to become the centre of a high-speed chase last Saturday, when he decided to take a car on joy-ride with a four-year-old passenger.
The Washington Police Office began receiving phone calls from concerned drivers, who noticed the young passengers driving a car erratically on the main road.
The boy managed to drive the stolen car at 35-miles-per hour, which is double the speed limit for the area. The nine-year-old drove the car for four-miles, until witnesses managed to get the boy to pull over and stop.
When questioned by police as to why they took the car, the children said that they had wandered away from their home and we’re trying to get to their grandmothers house.
The Washington Police Office said that no charges were being filed but will be doing follow up investigations with the children.
