It could be assumed that Angelina Jolie always knew she wanted to be a mum. The actress has six children with her partner, Brad Pitt, but says this surprised even her.

In fact, the actress has admitted that she never even thought she would become a mum at all.

Blaming her previous feelings on her turbulent childhood, the actress said: “I never thought I’d have children. I never thought I’d be in love, I never thought I’d meet the right person. Having come from a broken home – you kind of accept that certain things feel like a fairy tale, and you just don’t look for them."

Angelina is now mum to six children: Maddox (12), Pax (10), Zahara (9), Shiloh (7) and five year-old twins, Knox and Vivienne.

Vivienne has just recently starred alongside her famous mum in Disney’s Maleficent, as the younger Aurora.

Angelina explained that Vivienne had not been the only option to play the role, as she also asked Shiloh. Angelina explained: “I asked Shiloh about being Aurora, and she laughed in my face. She said she’d be a horned creature.”

Adorably, the mum-of-six also spoke about why Vivienne was the perfect choice for the role: “My little Vivienne – we call her my shadow, because there’s nothing I can do to shake her. I can be tired, I can be grumpy, I can be in a terrible mood, and she doesn't care ... We knew that she would still do that thing, she’d smile at me and insist that I pick her up. So we couldn't really cast anybody else.”
