Apple have decided to refund customers for certain purchases that were made in their app stores.

The majority of these customers happen to be parents, who faced high bills as a result of their children’s’ accidental overspending. Most of the parents' children while playing on their parent's iPhone would download various apps and as a result parents’ would be unknowingly charged for app downloads on their iTunes account.

The tech company sent an e-mail out to all iTunes users who recently made in-app purchases that involved paying extra for already downloaded content.

The decision was made after numerous parents complained to the company about how their children were able to run up large bills of in-app purchases, while playing downloaded Apple games.

Apple said they were committed to helping parents and children have a great experience while using their App store.

“We’ve heard from some customers that it was too easy for their kids to make in-app purchases. As a result, we’ve improved controls for parents so they can better manage their children’s purchases, or restrict them entirely.”

The company said that iTunes users who are applicable for the above refund need to submit refund request before April 15th 2015.
